Photos from MANA 2006

The conference banner with the wonderful theme and logo!
The conference theme is the same as Baltimore's theme, and conference coordinator Linda McHale wanted her picture by the Baltimore "Believe" sign (this one just happened to be on a trash container).
During the MANA Board meeting they held a conference call with Vermilion, our PR firm and carefully considered thoughts on logo design.
The MANA Board hard at work on Tuesday before the conference!

The Joint Board meeting between MANA, the North American Registry of Midwives, the Midwifery Education Accreditation Council, the Foundation for the Advancement of Midwifery, Citizens for Midwifery, and the National Association of Certified Professional Midwives was Wednesday afternoon. Here's the group!

The Foundation for the Advancement of Midwifery (FAM) Board gave a great presentation Friday morning during breakfast singing "If I had a Million Dollars!"
And they showed off the great sock they had to sell!

Here's the crowd during their song.
On Friday afternoon the hotel had a bomb scare, so we got to go outside and enjoy the lovely weather and visit until the "all clear" was sounded.

Abby Kinne, MANA VP in charge of committees, awarded this year's special Committee Chair award to Trinlie Wood for her outstanding work as Data Collection Section Chair
of the MANA Division of Research. Her oversight of the collection
of over 5000 births completed by midwives under the prospective
protocol of the web system and nearly 5000 more logged
or in progress is of immeasurable benefit to MANA,
midwives, mothers, families, and babies.
Here's Maggie and Priya of the FAM Board at their table.
And the socks FAM had for sale! They went fast!

We sold out of these bumper stickers at the MANA fundraising table. Audra will order more! Here's a way everyone can support midwifery.

On Sunday morning MANA awarded the Sapling award to Christy Santoro (left), the Sage Femme award to Rhoda Wenger (center) and the Lifetime Achievement Award to Ina May Gaskin (right).
