Dear Fellow Aspiring and New Midwives,

There are some great changes happening for Student Midwives within MANA. For the past few months, with the support of the MANA Board, we have been working to re-organize and restructure the Student Section within MANA in order to facilitate the section serving as a professional network for student and new midwives (less than 3 years), providing educational resources, student peer-reviews, scholarship opportunities, career development, and resources to students committed to the Midwifery Model of Care. Future goals for the Student Section Members for 2012 include:

Provide students with adequate support and assistance in locating resources toward the goal of becoming a midwife.
Foster community amongst midwifery students
Foster professional development amongst student midwives
Enhance the communication between the Student Section and the MANA Board, in order to bring visibility and voice to the challenges of students and new midwives.
