Vote for MANA Board Now

If you are a VOTING MEMBER of Midwives Alliance of North America (credentialed midwives with current membership at a voting member level), then the time to vote is NOW! Voting closes on January 31.

All voting members received an email on January 9th with the subject line "MANA Board Elections Ballot & Voting Instructions." If you did not receive your ballot, or if you have questions, contact Marie.

Michigan CPM Legislation Signed into Law

Michigan CPM legislation was signed into law today, January 4th. The bill was passed thanks to efforts by the Coalition to License Certified Professional Midwives in Michigan and the consumer organization Friends of Michigan Midwives (FOMM), who contributed countless volunteer hours for over eight years to secure licensure. The midwives in Michigan look forward to spreading the midwifery model to more families and to increasing collaboration through a more cohesive relationship with other health care providers.

Supporting MANA Stats Puerto Rico

Over the past few months, volunteers from around the country have traveled to Puerto Rico, joining local volunteers completing data entry for the MANA Stats Puerto Rico project. This project aims to examine the outcomes and practices of community-based midwifery care for improving maternal and infant health in Puerto Rico. More than 150 hours of volunteer time have gone into the effort so far.

August 2016- The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists' (ACOG) Committee on Obstetric Practice released their Committee Opinion Number 669 on Planned Home Birth.
