State Leadership Discussion at RISE2020

Dear State Leaders:

With the Midwives Alliance of North America’s Annual Conference just around the corner, we want to invite you, as community leaders, to join the excitement!

As I am sure you have heard, the MANA Annual Conference is October 27 and 28 with the theme - RISE! This is the first year we have moved everything online with no in-person event. Not only does this save everyone money and time but sessions will be recorded to view anytime.  If you have not registered yet, please take a moment right now and put your name in the mix -

In addition to having you attend, we have created several ways you and your communities can get involved:

  1. MANA is hosting a special forum just for the leaders in the midwifery world. It is a breakout session on Thursday, October 27, 2020, at 4:00pm CST. This event is ONLY available on October 27 because it is a live, interactive event. We want to hear from you and all leaders about what is going on in your community and how MANA can support the work being done. So here is your special invitation to attend this breakout session with me.
  2. MANA is encouraging local leaders to ask midwives in your community to join in the conversation. This year the MANA conference is online which creates an incredible opportunity for an affordable option in getting involved with MANA and getting CEU’s. Would you forward the flyer attached to this email to the midwives, student midwives, and birth workers of all kinds? We need your help to spread the word about this incredible event.
  3. We realize these unprecedented times allow us opportunities to get creative. Though we can not gather in our usual form of 100’s of midwives in the same location, we are encouraging small group gatherings in your own community. We ask that you follow all state and local guidelines as it pertains to COVID 19 to make the event as safe as possible. As small groups of midwives gather all over our country to watch the MANA conference, conversation, ideas and dreams can flourish, our hearts are refreshed and that community we crave at the in-person MANA conference can be stirred if even in a small way.
  4. As you register, gather, and participate in the two-day online event we ask that you post about it regularly on the MANA Facebook page helping to draw that sense of greater community beyond our own towns and cities.
  5. Enjoy! Though this year is different in so many ways it can still be exciting to learn and grow together as we are apart.

We are excited to see you at the end of October!
